DECEASED Guitarist Steps Down From Touring; Replacement Announced

July 14, 2006

Virginia-based old-school thrash metallers DECEASED have posted the following message on their official web site:

"After 16 years with the band, Mike Smith [guitar] has made the decision to step down from playing shows with us. He will continue to be an active member of DECEASED in other areas, though, writing songs and recording. He is still committed to the band 100%. However, increased responsibilities with his job and raising a family have brought about this difficult decision.

"Mike's live replacement will be Shane Fuegel (BIONIC MAN, DRUGS OF FAITH),a longtime local friend of the band and a great guitarist. Really, we can't think of anyone better for the job than Shane. Mike's last live shows with DECEASED will be Saturday July 22nd in Parma, Ohio and Saturday July 29th at CBGB's in NYC.

"We will miss Mike's presence with us on stage, but realize that things change in life and ultimately, you have to do what's best for yourself. The weird travel on..."

DECEASED are currently working on material for their new album, entitled "Surreal Overdose". Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Skin Crawling Progress", "Kindred Assembly", "The Traumatic", "A Doom Laden Aura", "Resemblence", "Gloom Afficionado", "Alone In Imagination" and "Into Our World They Creep". The artwork will be once again be created by Jowita Kaminska. A late 2006/early 2007 release is expected.

DECEASED's latest album, "As the Weird Travel On", was released in April 2005 on Thrash Corner Records.
